Two British companies, Contingent Technology and Globeleq are interested to invest in Genale Dawa 6 electric power generation project. The leaders of the companies held discussion with Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome on the issue. These British companies will be the first private investors to the sector.
The projects will be built on the border of Oromia and Somali regions. Once completed, the project will have the capacity to generate 250MW electric power.
In addition to electric power generation, the companies will also be engaged in irrigation development.
