A meeting organized by the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) discussed on ways to set up private sector corporate social responsibility fund.
In his opening remark at the meeting held to discuss on the draft of its establishing charter, Solomon Afework, President of ECCSA, said setting up the fund would help the private sector fulfill their social responsibilities.
It would also help rehabilitate people displaced as a result of natural and manmade disasters as well as to support researches, small scale industries and modern agricultural practices, he indicated
Moreover, it will help prevent environmental pollutions, provide training for youth, give rapid responses for emergencies and social crisis as well as offer support for the success of development plans, it was noted.
After discussing on the charter, the meeting reached on consensus for the establishment of the fund in less than a month.
