Ethiopia and Kenya are working together to have the biggest role in the planned East Africa economic integration, said Dina Mufti, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Kenya.
In line with Ethiopia’s national security and foreign policy, which give priority for its neighbors, Ethiopia and Kenya have forged strong relationship, Ambassador Dina said in an exclusive interview with FBC.
The ambassador further said that Ethiopian embassy in Nairobi is working to link the two countries with infrastructure as per the Special Status Agreement signed to facilitate trade between the two nations.
According to a report released by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in 2016, trade between African countries, including between Ethiopia and Kenya is very low
Ambassador Dina further said that the two countries are working to tackle the conflicts that occasionally occur at border areas via the Ethio-Kenya Joint Border Commission.
