A pharmaceutical manufacturing plant built by the Chinese Humanwell Healthcare group at a cost of 2.7 billion birr ($100 mln) in north Shoa zone, 65 km north of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The plant will produce 30 varieties of drugs and create employment opportunities for about 300 people once it goes operational, it was noted the inauguration event that attracted various government officials, including chief administrator of Amahra regional state, Gedu Andargachew.
Gedu on the occasion said the plant would have a significant contribution towards promoting technology transfer, creating jobs and generating foreign currency earnings for the regional state and the country.
He further said the regional state would warmly welcome and facilitate condition for investors if they come and invest in the region.
The pharmaceutical plant aspires becoming the leading pharmaceutical supplier for local and east African markets.
