Eight modern machines which would help to dispose expired medicines and medical equipment locally are to operational, according to Ethiopian Pharmaceuticals Fund and Supply Agency.
Adna Berhe, public relations and communication director at the agency told FBC that the machines were purchased with 11 million US dollars secured from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
According to her eight cities, namely Mekelle, Bahir Dar, Hawassa, Desie, Nekemte, Jimma, Adama and Dire Dawa, were chosen to install the machines.
Works were underway to complete the installation of the machines until June 2018, the director said.
