The Addis Ababa Investment Agency said it will start to offer a one-stop shop service next month to alleviate the problems encountered by investors and create favorable investment atmosphere in the capital.
Preparations are being finalized to commence the service, it added.
Agency Director-General, Kidanemariam Berhe said the service to begin next month will be provided only for Ethiopians and the Ethiopian Diaspora.
The director-general pointed out that the one-stop shop service will have significant contribution to GTP-2.
In order to realize the country’s economic transformation, the government of Ethiopia has introduced incentives to investors that would engage in manufacturing in the form of provision of loan and land as well as exemption of taxes of manufacturing machinery.
The purpose of one-stop shop service is to help businesspersons get efficient services in investing in profitable areas, according to Kidanemariam.
The director-general, who described the existing services as long and discouraging, added that the one-stop service will create a conducive and competitive investment climate.
The Addis Ababa Investment Agency has licensed over 700 projects in this Ethiopian fourth quarter of the fiscal year, and of those 109 are owned by Ethiopians and the Ethiopians Diaspora, it was indicated.
