Japanese Investors desirous to do Business in Ethiopia

Two Japanese companies engaged in manufacturing and selling energy equipments expressed their desire to penetrate into the Ethiopian market.

The Koyo Group and the NEC Energy solution told ENA that they are desirous to offer their products and establish large-scale power plants in Ethiopia.

Koyo, General Manager Koji Makita said that his company has arranged to supply products to Ethiopia and invest in the sector.

“We have been roll out the solar power generation business all over the world. We devoted ourselves to introducing the solar power generation as well as building large-scale solar power plants in Ethiopia.”

We have also established the world’s highest level of quality energy saving measures, he added, the company is looking forward for potential partners to do business in Ethiopia.

“It was the time to work out energy crises”, said the manager. “We support solar power generation system which uses the clear energy of solar light”

Ethiopian’s power sector is beginning to catalyze growth in Africa’s largest economy, said the NEC African area coordinator Chad Baker said.

NEC Energy Solutions, a company in advanced energy storage, developing and manufacturing smart energy storage solutions for electric grid, backup power and lead-acid replacement applications, is promoting advanced energy storage technologies in Africa.

He said, “Advanced energy storage technology is integral to increase the efficiency of power grids in Ethiopia and enabling them to become smarter, cleaner and more reliable”

Establishing regional power pool, minimizing wastage in solar and wind energy and promote better financial access are the major areas NEC wishes to engage in Ethiopia.

NEC Energy Solutions plan to offer Grid Storage Solution/GSS/, Hybrid Solar Solution, ALM high rate power delivery equipments exceptional performance energy products to the Ethiopian market.

Ethiopian Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy Alemayehu Tegenu said Ethiopia has opened its doors for investors in this sector.

He said it is time for companies to invest and profit from the Ethiopian Energy sector, saying the government welcomes investors in the energy sector.

“Our government illustrating where we think companies and investors; our policy makes the companies’ asset easier and supports their business making”, the minister adding.
