Ethiopia has become a limelight for foreign investors as a result of its conducive investment climate. Foreign investors are more than welcome and encouraged to take part in the investment opportunities of the country with many incentives in place.
Organizing international trade fairs here would help showcase country’s potential, supportive legal frameworks, boost partnership between local and foreign investors and promote products and services, among others. To this end, the Ethiopian and Addis Ababa Chambers of Commerce and Sectoral Associations have been organizing trade fairs, exhibitions and bazaar with varying themes attracting large participants.
Recently, the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA) announced that it would organize a string of international trade fairs in which both local and foreign businessmen are expected to take part and strengthen partnerships.
Outlining this year’s plan last Thursday, AACCSA President Elias Genete said that the association has been carrying out various business promotional activities to discharge its responsibility to promote trade and investment and attract foreign direct investment.
According to him, the 21st Addis Chamber International Trade Fair is scheduled to be held February 23 – March 1 , 2017 and the 10th edition of AGRIFEX May 11-15, 2017. The exhibition focus on Agriculture and Agri-business. This specialized fair has proven to be essential instrument for promoting agro-processing and agri-businesses, Elias said.
As tourism is top priority of the nation, the association would also organize the 6th International Tourism and Travel Fair which was introduced since 2012. The trade fair is expected to attract a good number of participating companies engaged in the tourism sector, he said.
The president said the Manufacturing and Technology International Trade Fair (MATEX) would be held June 29-July 3, 2017 which is expected to be a great opportunity for local and foreign exhibitors engaged in the sector.
It was noted that these international trade fairs, exhibitions and bazaars held at the Addis Ababa Exhibition Center, would help realize the industrialization drive.
