The Ethiopian Agricultural Works Corporation said it is purchasing 11. 4 million quintals of fertilizer at a cost of 9 billion birr for the 2016/17 Ethiopia’s crop production season.
The importation of over 9.3 million quintals has already been launched, according to a statement the corporation sent to FBC.
The Corporation is purchasing the fertilizer directly from the manufacturer at a reduced price, thus helping the Corporation to distribute it to farmers at a low price compared to the past years, it said.
The Ethiopian Agricultural Works Corporation was established a year ago after joining five enterprises.
