The Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s (SNNP) regional state is set to create 600,000 jobs for unemployed people.Chief of the regional state, Dese Dalke, said 3 billion birr has been made available to create jobs for unemployed youth.According to him, the regional state created employment opportunities for 250,000 youth in the first half of this Ethiopian fiscal year.
In a related development, the regional state issued licenses for investors with a combined capital of more than 3.6 billion birr in the past eight months.
The licenses were issued for 153 investors to engage in agriculture, industry and service sectors. The projects have so far created more than 50,000 jobs.
