The 5th edition of the Africa CEO Forum opened in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday March 20, 2017.
An Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu is attending the forum.
On a panel discussion dealing with the kind of economic model Africa should peruse to build new economy, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu called for African solution for African problems.
“To solve economic and social problems in Africa, we need to invest in Energy provision, that’s why Ethiopia is investing in Energy harnessing structures,” he said.
Amir Ben Yahmed, Founder and President of the Forum in his opening remark explained the urgency to overhaul Africa’s business model because of the declining growth in African economies.
He also announced the launch of the African CEO Barometer, an initiative aimed at measuring the confidence in African CEOs and the expectations and prospects of key leaders in the African private sector.
Published on the occasion of the Africa CEO Forum, the Barometer is based on a survey of more than 1,000 active African CEOs across the continent and will be renewed annually.
