Ethiopian delegation participates at 27th World Economic Forum in South Africa

The Ethiopian high-level delegation led by Dr. AkililuHailemichael, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, is taking part at the 27th World Economic Forum on Africa Summit opened in Durban, South Africa on May 3, 2017.

The three-day forum (3-5 May, 2017) focuses on Africa’s drive to generate inclusive economic growth and the leadership. This year’s Forum themed “Achieving inclusive Growth through Responsive and Responsible Leadership”.

The forum which brought together Heads of State and government, leaders from different regional, continental and international governmental and non-governmental Organizations as well as CEO’s of multi-national corporations will discuss and find the best solutions to Africa’s inclusive growth, long-lasting peace and integration.

Ethiopian delegation is expected to share the country’s best practices and experience in development policies, strategies, programs, long and short term national plans, infrastructure expansion, public private partnership dynamics and the country’s noteworthy economic growth over the years.

Over the week, the World Economic Forum on Africa Assembly will extensively discuss on Inclusive growth, Leadership in an Era of Disruption, civil protest and terrorism, the evolving dynamics between Africa and global economic powers, CEOs and business growth in Africa, African Union Agenda 2063,Africa’s Industrial Corridors, Infrastructure, intra-regional trade, fragile states and Unemployment.

According to MoFA, the World Economic Forum on Africa Summit is also expected to review and evaluate Mega projects in Africa including North-South transport corridor and Pan-African fiber connectivity.
