Itel Mobile Ethiopia planned to earn 40 million US dollars this Ethiopian fiscal year (2017/18) from the export of mobile phones it assembled in Ethiopia.
The company secured 35 million US dollars from export of mobile phones during the past ten years, according to a statement it sent to FBC. The company also envisaged obtaining 300 million US dollars by 2020, it added.
In order to attain its plan, the company has concluded agreement to build a factory in the premises the Ethio-ICT Industrial Park, said Binyam Araya, deputy manager of Itel Mobile Ethiopia
According to Binyam, his company has so far introduced more than 20 new models to local and global markets.
