The United Kingdom’s Trade and Industry (UKTI) body joined forces with SuperCatex to organize the first ever British Exporters’ Catalogue Exhibition in Ethiopia which took place between December 9 and 11, 2014 at Ellily Hotel, Addis Abeba. SuperCatex is a catalogue exhibition organizer that has organized 122 exhibitions worldwide, and created an estimated 43,000 new business partnerships for British exporters.
The event aimed at creating opportunities and linkage between businesses based in Ethiopia and British exporters that are seeking agents and distributors in such diverse sectors as agriculture, industry consumables, health care, consumer and luxury goods and automobiles.
“This is a great opportunity not only to facilitate trade between the two countries, but also to attract British Foreign Direct Investment into Ethiopia,” the British Ambassador to Ethiopia, Greg Dorey said.
There were 185 business catalogues on display and up to 1000 visitors were expected at the event.
