Ethiopia’s inflation edged lower to 11.8 percent year-on-year in October from 11.9 percent in September, the country’s statistics office said on Monday. The Central Statistics Agency disclosed that non-food inflation dropped to 7.0 percent in October from 7.5 percent the previous month.
Food inflation was 16.2 percent, compared with 16.1 percent in September.
Agriculture is the chief mainstay of the Ethiopian economy, accounting for 46.3 percent of GDP and 60 percent of its exports.
